In a few months I'll legally be allowed to get piercings without permission but parents are still strongly opposed. How do I show them that an eyebrow piercing doesn't make me punk or goth or give off a negative image? How do I get my parents to let me get my eyebrow pierced?
Well my parents are the strictest in the world. They dont allow me to do anything and If I do something wrong then I get beatings. 2 Months ago I got my eyebrow peirced and my parents didnt notice for the first couple of days. I told them and they werent impressed. They are strict muslims and dont accept any bullshit. If I can get away with an eyebrow percing in this kind of environment then you should be able to (Unless your parents are worse).
It doesnt make me look like a punk or goth. It makes me look rebelious. I love it. Good Luck
(I am a 16 year old boy)How do I get my parents to let me get my eyebrow pierced?
It leaves a horrible scar darlin.
Edit: A pic of my friend whos eyebrow was pierced.

Don`t do that cos when you grow up to the real world you will need tons of money on plastic surgery to correct your pretty face.

How can I convince my parents to get me a cell phone for Christmas?
I am thirteen and it just makes sense for me to get one. ALl my friends have one and it would be convenient to be able to contact my family at all times and not have to ask one of my friends if i can use theirs.
Any advice? How can I convince my parents to get me a cell phone for Christmas?
Tell them that since you only want the phone to be able to contact home in times of emergency, explain to them that it doesn't have to be fancy (no need for an Iphone or anything like that) it just has to be able to call your family when you need too.How can I convince my parents to get me a cell phone for Christmas?
You should put forth your arguments to your parents in a formal presentation. Cost benefit analysis. if they still refuse to get you a cell phone. Disappear for a few days and when you get back, tell them you would have called but you didn't have a cell phone.
I have the same question. I NEED HELP 2!
Ask them..
*What would I do if I was the last one left at school?
*What if I was put in a bad situation and I had no cell phone?
*What if my friends won't let me use theirs?
Make sure NOT to say ';All my friends do..'; WORST possible line everrr!
Just talk about safety(; I mainly wanted one so I could text!spots

How can I get my parents to buy me a bunny?
I really want a bunny, and its almost Christmas! The only problem is that my brother is a little allergic and so my parents won't let me get one so far. I am willing to take care of it and prevent my brother's allergies. Any
help?
How can I get my parents to buy me a bunny?
Rabbits are a LOT of work and live a long time - as long as a dog. That's probably the main reason your parents don't want one. Rabbits are more like dogs or cats than small animals...they need to be spayed and neutered and they also can't be kept in cages all day. They need several hours of exercise if you're going to keep them caged at all, but many owners have found that the best way to keep rabbits is ';free range'; in a room or even in the whole house. A litter-trained house bunny is a great addition to the family, but a big commitment.
The only time I'd ever recommend a rabbit is if the WHOLE family wants one. That rabbit may still be around in 10 years - where will you be? If you move out of the house, are your parents going to be prepared to take care of the rabbit? Also, it's not fair to the rabbit to confine it to a cage all day, and especially not if that cage is outside - rabbits often end up ';forgotten'; in the backyard.
Also, rabbits eat a lot of hay, and while the rabbit itself isn't too bad for allergies, hay is AWFUL - it's dusty and can be pretty irritating.
If you really want a rabbit, start doing some research now, but it might be best to wait until you're on your own and able to commit to a 10+ year lifespan. I didn't get my first rabbit until I was 19, even though I wanted one since I was 8. Maybe you could even volunteer with a rabbit rescue association - some shelters accept volunteers to help socialize the rabbits, or you could foster rabbits until they find permanent homes. Check out rabbit.org, the house rabbit society, for information on rabbit care and rescue organizations that you could help out with. How can I get my parents to buy me a bunny?
beg and tell them you will take care and keep it in you're room with out you're brother near it.make a list of what time you will have to do to take care of it and how many times to feed and water it and tell them that a least you dont want a dog because their alot of resonbiltys like takeing them out feed and water it 3 times a day.
If there is a bunny in your house and you brother is allergic, he is going to react. There is no way you can prevent this and getting a bunny would be a bit selfish and careless of the people around you.

How can I convince my parents to buy me a cute puppy?
I really want a puppy so much!I have been waiting about 3 years to have one puppy just one!!!!!! So here is the question how can i get a puppy just by asking my parents? How can I convince my parents to buy me a cute puppy?
Ask them to ADOPT and maybe their accept that idea better!
Also, show them you can be responsible!
Don't BUY! ADOPT!How can I convince my parents to buy me a cute puppy?
Even though I don't know how old you are, I am guessing that you are pretty young. A puppy is a huge responsibility, and you probably don't realize just how much work will be involved, which I'm sure that your parents will, especially your mother -- who will probably think that she will end up being the one who will take care of it. Here is what you can try. Approach them and tell them that you are responsible enough to take care of this cute puppy (who will very soon grow into a full-grown dog!), and that you are willing to prove it. Then have them come up with something for you to do that will prove to them that you are responsible. Depending on your age, this could be something like keeping your room clean for a month, or babysitting a friend's child a few times, or helping your mom with some housework for a few weeks, or something like that. Whatever it is, it will have to be something you do on a consistent and regular basis for a little while so that they can see that you are responsible. I'm sure that they will be able to come up with something for you to prove to them that you would be responsible with the care of a little puppy. Good luck and if you do get one, please take really good care of it! That little one will grow-up to be your best friend for a really long time.
I have been waiting 3 years for the US Government to just give me a 3 billion dollar check.
Just because you want, doesn't mean you get. Perhaps your parents aren't ready for a dog. It costs thousands of dollars per year to properly take care of one, you know. Do you have a job? Could you afford an $800 emergency vet visit, if needed? That might be one of many reasons why your parents don't want to get you a dog.
Another reason might be you don't do your English homework. There's no need to use double punctuation. You only need one exclamation point, per sentence. You also don't use commas.
First you need money to buy the dog, the toys, the food, the vet bills, and more. You need to show your parents you are responsible bu voluunteering at a shelter or by offering to walk your neighbors/ friends dogs for awhile. Don't ask them too much if not they will be even more eager to say no. Once they see how responsible you are, they might say yes. Be patient, never give up!
Hope this helps,
Leanna B :]

Maybe by showing them that you've considered that your ';cute puppy'; will soon become a dog that will live for approximately 12-13 years and need looking after for the whole time.
lol ok just act kinda responsible for a few days, and then on the day your going to ask, like half an hour before you ask, do something really, really good. like clean something without being asked, whatever your parents would like to see you do. And before they get over the fact that you were so good, ask for a puppy, really politely. Dont beg unless they didnt say yes by the second day, okies?
(PS--Im an expert, ive gotten three puppies from my parents so far lol)
Make sure you ADOPT from a shelter or the Humane Society. Adopting a pet is the responsible and ethical thing to do.
DO NOT ';buy'; a dog from a breeder.
Usually puppy give their masters responsibilities, so reach your parents in that way, that you will handle your responsibilities well about taking care of your pet and always a cute puppy will bring a lot of happy to the home
Do one thing download some cute puppy playing with its master photos and show it to them , it might work
In Funny way ask your parent another sibbiling, otherwise ask them a puppy , they will go for puppy ( Just kidding dont take in another way)
depends how old u r. i m 16 and i got myself a job and payed for my puppy alone. afcorse i took the option where i pay 100 dollars per month till i fully pay for it since i don make that much. so u should do what i did cause puppies are expensive. my costed about 2900 dollars with tax. plus u l appreciate it more if u buy it urself.

How can i convince my parents to let me stay home while im suspened from school?
I got suspended from school and my parents make me go to work with my dad everyday. And well i find out in a few days how long i am out for and it is most likely going to be like a month or two. Please help me find a way to convince them to let me stay home all day instead of going to work wiht my dad.How can i convince my parents to let me stay home while im suspened from school?
A month or 2, we're talking drugs or weapons. Anything else would not involve that long a suspension. So go to work with daddy, and behave yourself like a good little boy.How can i convince my parents to let me stay home while im suspened from school?
You're lucky your parents haven't chained you to the bed with a pot to pee in. Seeing the light of day and getting out of the house is a privilage.
I can tell you that a suspension from school for a month means you did something that they probably could have pressed charges on you for.
Why in the world would you think that you get a vacation from school and can stay at home unwatched. Your parents have no trust in you right now and probably think that the moment they leave the house, you will take off and cause trouble.
No sleeping in, no t.v, no freedom, no phone, no computer. You gave up those rights when you pulled what ever bone headed stunt you pulled.
what the heck did you do? i mean i am 12 and i am a ok student i mean nothing fancy but if that was me i wouldn't be here typing or anything...
well either get sick or say something like i don't want to get other people sick sorry!
two months????!!!!! you are gonna hate me but they are right!! is punishment not price.... or.... fake that you are sick, idk brake your leg.... not really!!! don't do it!!! take it like a man!! sorry though i know for a fact that it sux
Tell them to send you to military school.
Selfish overprivileged brat.
You are being punished, you should not be allowed to stay home and have fun.
I highly doubt they will let you stay home for this.
Learn from your lessons.
You should be happy you're still able to type. I can't imagine what you did to get booted for a month or more.
just sit there and tell them no
A month or 2? If you were MY kid, you would be having a hard time sitting!

How can I convince my parents to let me become a vegan?
I've been a vegetarian for about a year now (on the 8th of August it will be exactly a year). I really think I am ready to give up eggs and dairy from my diet, but my parents are dead against it. My mom told me that as long as I live with her, I am not becoming a vegan. But everytime I eat dairy or eggs, I feel guilty and grossed out. There aren't a lot of vegan-friendly foods in the house, except for soy milk. HELP!How can I convince my parents to let me become a vegan?
There is a Japanese analogy/proverb that goes like this, ';The nail that sticks up is the one that gets hammered down';. People are like this everywhere. When you tell your family that it is your personal belief that animals should not be eaten, they take a look at themselves and it can be subconsciously translated into, ';What you do is wrong and I choose to be right.';
There have been many vegans before us that have done their best to stay healthy and most have succeeded, but many have made mistakes, and luckily, people have been keeping track for those of us that wish to avoid those mistakes.
http://www.veganhealth.org/sh
Your parents have probably been taught a huge amount of misinformation by their parents and their teachers while growing up. You really need to research vegetarian diets and health before you even think about saying the ';V-word'; in front of your parents.
When you have gathered enough information and feel confident in a vegan diet's ability to maintain or even improve health, you may mention to them that you have made the decision. They may be shocked, angry, worried, curious or many other things, but you must NEVER react to their behavior and always stay calm. If they are able to speak to you and respect your choice, please tell them everything and answer all questions. If they are rude, inconsiderate, judgmental, violent, or verbally abusive, refuse to continue any conversation until they can speak to you with respect.
The best advice is to study everything that you can about a healthy vegan diet and keep yourself in good shape (better than most people your age or than your friends/family if possible). If nobody that you know shows a genuine, positive interest in your choice, don't give them the privilege of the knowledge that you have gathered. Work your way around any attempts they make to trivialize your beliefs and if possible, go shopping with your parents and buy things that aren't obvious veggie fare. Instead of trying to sneak fake meat into the cart, toss in lentil soup, peanut butter, pasta, fruits %26amp; veggies or anything else that you have learned is needed to fill any gaps in your diet.
--------------------------------------鈥?br>
One of the most valuable steps is to study a balanced vegan diet and learn how to cook/prepare everything that you will need to keep yourself satisfied BEFORE you start to label yourself as vegan. This is important in keeping yourself healthy and working towards a fit body that can redefine vegan stereotypes.
Your journey as vegetarian was just the beginning of a longer one to a plant-based diet with no animal products. This should be due to the reality of factory farming in which animals that are kept alive to produce milk, eggs, etc suffer much more and longer than animals that are raised to a certain weight and then slaughtered.http://www.veganoutreach.org/whyvegan/
http://meat.org
Some people use the word ';vegan'; in reference to this idea, but be aware that applying that label to yourself should always come with the inclusion of wise activism and advocacy.http://www.veganoutreach.org/advocacy/in鈥?/a>
Two extremely important examples of this are that you should never speak to someone about vegetarianism/veganism without their consent and genuine interest or as a comment on what they are eating AND your dietary beliefs should never be used as an introduction or explanation of who you are as a person. Veg*ism should be something that comes up AFTER people get to know you and they offer you a situation that makes it confusing to withhold the information/discussion. Also, if you are presented something that you choose not to eat or you are
ordering food/eating together somewhere/picking the best place to eat.
A responsible vegan ALWAYS studies the subject of their own health and how to keep their body completely provided for in every sense. http://www.veganhealth.org/sh
To neglect their body is to define a plant-based diet as unhealthy and is the opposite of helping the animals.
When you you hold off on the subject until it's necessary and then act like it isn't a big deal at all, people are usually surprised and WAY more interested and curious than if you were to bring it up when someone's eating or just using it as a conversation starter.
A balanced plant-based diet includes grains(breads, pasta, rice, cereal), legumes(soy, beans, peas, lentils), fruit and vegetables.

Being vegan can be an art, one whose challenge is to take things that involve the suffering of the innocent and change them into something free of cruelty.
A vegan woman can create an ENTIRELY NEW,HEALTHY HUMAN BEING INSIDE OF HER. Many of these children stay vegan and grow up to be perfectly healthy adults. So just keep yourself educated about what you eat and don't let anyone tell you that a veg diet is lacking anything essential.
Technically the term ';vegetarian'; does imply that you don't consume anything that comes from the body of an animal that requires killing it. Many ingredients such as gelatin and glycerin are found in many candies, Fig-Newtons, and many of other foods as well as rennet found in many cheeses.
http://www.happycow.net/health-animal-in鈥?/a>
The best thing to remember is to take your time so that for example: when you are comfortable not eating whey and casein you can then give up sodium stearoyl lactylate and L-cysteine when you are sure you can make the commitment permanently.
Depending on your age or reliance on parents or regional options, it may not be best to give yourself a label. The important thing is to do your best to make progress and be committed to your compassion towards animals. Never put your focus onto what you or other people use to describe yourself.
If you meet someone that talks down to people for eating meat, dairy, etc or to you because they think they are ';more veg'; than you, laugh in their face and tell them they are a disgrace to the entire philosophy. People like this only hurt the idea of veg*ism AND the animals. The point of all of this is to live compassionately and and as free from cruelty as you can, all the while maintaining your health and a positive attitude. People who don't maintain either, need not open their mouths and represent our beliefs.
If you actually choose to read all of this, I hope it helps. If not, feel free to e-mail me if you have questions.

You should ask your doctor to talk to your mom about it. Once she gets accurate facts from him she can make an informed decision.
all milk will do is make you FAT and will caluse you:
digestion trouble
higher cholesterol
allergies
lactose intolerance
bacterial growth
bowel disorders
low blood levels of:
calcium
manganese
magnesium
zinc
iron
copper
and if you would like to read MORE buy the book called Moooove over milk and it will tell you every thing about dairy.
Also watch meet your meat that PETA made and get your mom to watch it with you !!
PETA has vegan recipes also go to www.goveg.com
Your going to hate me for this....but I agree with your mom.
Your still growing and it is imperitive that you get enough protein in your diet.
No need to feel guilty for eating milk and eggs, if you want ,you can buy happy cow milk and range free eggs.
I was a vegan a few years ago, just to lose weight.
I lost weight, I also lost my hair.
Dayummm, that sucks.
Your mom must be a btich, huh?
If I were you I'd get a job or do extra chores or whatever your mom ..allows you to do to get extra money to buy vegan foods for yourself. You said you have soymilk.
Now all you need is:
soy cheese,
egg replacer, and
soy yogurt!
E-mail me if you need any tips on veganism...
or how to deal with your mother.
Good luck!!! =)
You should do some serious research into how to be a healthy vegan and maby buy some books, you could also talk to your doctor and ask for some advice (take your parents along) and then your parents may see that your really serious about it and that you know exactly what you should be eating, its worth a try!! Good Luck!! (P.S. The link below is quite useful!)
i have the same problem :[
ALFyakuza, sh*t man, that's a long one. Yes, the nail.
Well, you gotta do what you gotta do. No matter if it's giving up animal products or wanting to take violin lessons instead of piano, just do it.
You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot force it to drink. They cannot force you to eat what you don't want to eat.
';my parents are dead against it';
Why? It's like ALFyakuza said, they see it as you going against their ways; against what they have brought you up with.

';my parents are dead against it';
Why? It's like ALFyakuza said, they see it as you going against their ways; against what they have brought you up with.

What are your thoughts on parents that make their children campaign for them?
It seems that most parents want to convince their children to support the same candidate. I've even seen loads of children, bored out of their minds, clueless to what they are doing, campaining for a candidiate. Why don't parents teach their children about the parties and candidates in a truthful, non skewed fashion? What are your thoughts on parents that make their children campaign for them?
If I could get more than one of my lazy seven kids to campaign for me, I'd put 'em to work too!!What are your thoughts on parents that make their children campaign for them?
Why do parents force thier kids to go to the same church or speak the same language or eat the same food as they do? Parents have a right to give thier children the upbringing they - not you or I or the State - think is best for them. That might mean a good education, or 'freedom' to form thier own opinions - or it could mean religious indoctrination, or, yes, political activism.
I don't aprove of using children for political ends, but my aproval should not be required.
They are pimps.
if the child is an adult and willfully goes out and campaigns, then it's ok.
I think the same of people who whore their children out at anti-abortion rallys, illegal immigration rally's etc. A child is not a billboard.
Not saying it is bad to expose children to these things, just don't whore them out to the cause.
Ah....
How about the dog with a campaign shirt..
Make any connections you want to on this...
but at our convention I saw a dog with a Hillary shirt on. I think the poor woman needs to have a baby when she starts clothing dogs to make a political statement.
Parents, no matter how much they emphasize independence, do have a hardcore effect on what a kid believes when they grow up. It takes awhile to shed it and sometimes they never do.. but eventually they will come into their own.
Do I agree with making them campaign? Hell no.. go to the park child.
If my kid if i had one would love there support. But i wouldnt make htem campain for me at all. I want them to pick who they think is the best.
Dosent matter if they agree with me or not. My family is more republican and i am a demorcate.
I think it is pathetic. Chelsea was and still is an absolute disgrace as a speaker. Evidently she didn't receive a good education.
I'm sure Wally and the Beaver would have loved it if Ward was running for president.

How do I convince my parents to let me start Kickboxing?
I'm a 16 yr old girl who really wants to start kickboxing. I feel as though I'll really love doing it. I have found multiple gyms where they have classes. But there's one problem, my dad is not for it at all. My mom will go with whatever my dad says. He's afraid I'll get hurt. How do I convince him to let me start kickboxing? How do I convince my parents to let me start Kickboxing?
The best way you can approach this is have a talk with your mother and have her convince your dad that this went through her first. My kid has me do this all the time with his mother -- I wanted to start him on motocross and she didn't want him to.
Go through your mom and take a couple trial classes (any kickboxing gym will do this). As a parent, I think I would feel better if my kid took me down to the gym and spoke directly with the instructor. Tell the instructor that your dad feels uncomfortable with the whole thing before you take him down there. You need to also tell your dad that this is a great thing to have under your belt as self-defense for college in case you are ever attacked by freaks.
If you have a great instructor, he can show your dad that it is safe contact and usually not one on one but with the training dummies. He may be used to seeing the horrid stuff on TV.
Sell it as a self-defense class. How do I convince my parents to let me start Kickboxing?
I'm not going to sugarcoat the truth for you: You ARE going to get hurt. Everybody does when they get into a sport like Kickboxing. But any injuries you sustain will be minor. If you get hurt, you'll take some time off of your training to heal up and then go back. A sprain or a bruise will most likey be the type of injury you recieve, and not likely on your face because of protective gear covering so much of you (gloves, head protector, mouth guard, shin/foot pads, groin protector). In the long run, you'll be just fine, you'll get into great shape, and you'll have one of the best self defense systems a young woman can have to protect herself against men. You should just keep on letting your dad know how much you want to do it so that he knows that you're serious about it, and sooner or later he'll cave in. Then when you're about a year into kickboxing, if you like it, move on to some Judo or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu!
Make him go with you to a few of the classes, be a spectator with him. Make him watch a class with you. Show him how it's not that bad, how it's under control. And most of all, explain WHY you want to do it.
The least he could do is at least see what it's about and what you want to get into. As well as why.
Tell your dad that his sweet little 16 year old girl wants to not be a victim when she leaves his house at 18 to go to college or just move elsewhere. The two years of lessons you start today will help you take care of yourself if you get into a bad situation.
Tell him you want to learn to protect yourself.
Your safty is his main concert, if you make it seem like these classes will protect you, rather than put you in danger, he'll let you go.

How should i ask my parents about getting circumcised?
I am 17 years old and i have my mind set on getting circumcised. The only problem is i don't know how to bring it up to them. Please help! How should i ask my parents about getting circumcised?
Just bring it up straight out (preferably to your dad in private). See what he says. What's the worst thing that can happen? They say no? If so, you can always do it when you turn 18 (assuming you can pay for it). It is considered cosmetic surgery. May I ask, WHY you want to get circumcised in the first place? How should i ask my parents about getting circumcised?
Just ask them. At 18 you will be an adult, legally. Get some practice in and start acting like one.
As an adult, it is your choice to be circumcised. But, remember, it is surgery, and elective, cosmetic surgery at that. If you want to have part of your sex organ cut away and amputated that is your choice. But, I research before I go through any surgery. find out what you are in for, what you will be losing.
Just for grins, retract your foreskin and lightly run a moistened finger tip over the inside of your foreskin. Do you feel anything? If you do, just think how it will be with all that sensitive skin gone.
Bringing it up with them is the least of your problems, should they be crazy enough to agree.
Adult males lose 15 square inches (40 square centimetres) of skin in circumcision, over half the skin of your penis. You lose the gliding action as it slides on itself during masturbation and sex. You will suffer bruising, perhaps some bleeding, and the swelling from the disruption to the lymph system goes on for up to six months. Removing the foreskin turns the surface of the glans from an inner mucosal membrane to outside skin. Newly circumcised adults usually go through some weeks of intense discomfort as the glans is constantly exposed to rubbing on clothing, until it develops a thicker keratin layer and becomes less sensitive. You must abstain from ALL sexual activity for an average of six weeks. Some men like the final result but others complain of loss of sensation and miss being able to slide their foreskin over the glans. Circumcised guys often have little or no movable skin left and are forced to masturbate using lube or rubbing dry, without the loose skin. There is no going back if you don鈥檛 like the result.
A recent study has shown real differences in fine touch sensitivity between circumcised and intact penises and that the most sensitive parts of the intact penis are those that would be removed by circumcision.
The claimed benefits of circumcision are a beat up (based on flawed studies) and don't really exist but medical authorities have worked out that the overall complication rate is higher than all the benefits claimed by the pro-cutting advocates. One by one the claims are disproved but the pro-cutting zealots come up with more and keep quoting the old ones despite the evidence against them. For example you have more chance of dying from a circumcision or losing your penis from infection than from penile cancer. The rate of penile cancer is higher in the largely-circumcised USA than in European countries where less than 1% of the male population is circumcised. Plus circumcised men have been found to have penile cancer, mostly on the scar. (Remember this is a very rare disease in intact or circumcised men).
A very recent study in New Zealand followed a cohort of boys through life from birth to age 32. About 40% were circumcised. The intact males had a slightly lower rate of sexually transmitted infections than the circumcised but there was no significant difference.
Using surgery to mutilate the genitals instead of washing in a modern western society makes no sense. Normal intact male genitals are, if anything, easier to wash than female ones and the same substance, smegma collects in the genital folds of both sexes. A few intact males have problems with tight foreskin but this is only a tiny proportion of intact males. The condition can now be almost always treated with simple stretching exercises, sometimes in combination with a steroid cream that speeds up the process.
Many women who get to interact sexually with an intact penis prefer the natural state. Don鈥檛 do this to yourself just to fit in. Be proud of your whole and natural body.

WHY
Why on earth would you want to get circumcised that to me and probably the other 85% of the uncut guys in the world is the dumbest idea ever. You are would be cutting of the most sensitive part of your body the foreskin with all those nerve endings, and then having the foreskin removed will expose the glans which also reduces sensitivity.
Check out this yahoo question (in source) it was of a person who was going to get circumcised but by showing him all the down sides of it, he is not getting it anymore. And for all you circumcision lovers, there are no proven facts confirming that it is better or healthier. Also the foreskin is a birth right not a defect. If we were given it why on earth would you want to take it away, evolution has worked hard to make it what it is.
@NoAnteaterHere
YOU ARE SO WRONG YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT YOU LOSS ALMOST HAVE THE SKIN ON YOUR PENIS WHEN GETTING CUT, YOU LOSE PLEASURE DURING SEX AND MASTURBATION AND ITS UGLIER, ALSO THERE ARE NO PROVEN FACTS ABOUT CUT BEING BETTER THEN UNCUT, UNCUT ON THE OTHER HAND HAS BEEN WITH CERTAIN THINGS, WHY WOULD EVOLUTION GIVE US A FORESKIN IF WE WERE TO JUST CUT IT OFF THAT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE YOU ARE LOSING MILLIONS OF NERVE ENDINGS, ALSO YOU DON'T HAVE TO WATCH 3+ TIMES A DAY, JUST DOING IT ONCE IN THE SHOWER PULL YOUR FORESKIN BACK AND THERE YOUR DONE, ITS NOT THAT HARD. YOU WERE JUST ASHAMED OF BEING UNCUT AND LIVING THE LIFE WITH IT, SO YOU GOT IT CUT. YOU ARE THE ONE THAT IS BRAIN WASHED.
at ur age itll hurt like mess and itll take over 3 months to get over....my older bro got it done when he was 20...i was 16....i had to help him do everything....get dressed...take a shower...take him to the bathroom.....he couldnt do anything for 3 months without someone helping him....he could masturbate or have sex or almost over a year...he said it was not worht it.....but just ask ur dad about it
i don't see why you would want to do this, circumcision is only going to make your penis head dry and give you a scar on your penis
just tell them straight up to make an appointment with a doctor so you can get snipped
ok dude you know when you ask a girl and you just straight up ask.
do that just say it sraight up and i promise you! they will respect you and your wishes. Good Luck!!!
dont do it i found out on this one site i forget it but it sed either girls like it uncut or dont care meanin less girls like in england they make fun of circumsised guyz!!
Just talk to your dad about it. Just say hey dad I need to talk to you about something and then tell him.

I would reconsider. Do not fall prey to peer pressure. The circumcised guys have lost out on a lot. You are normal and intact - they are mutilated. Why do I say that?
First understand how important the foreskin is. The foreskin contains nerves. These are specialized nerves found nowhere else in the penis.
Without the foreskin, you cannot masturbate properly. Intact men masturbate by moving the foreskin up and down, like so:
http://geocities.com/painfulquestioning/鈥?/a>
As the skin moves up and down, the nerves on the underside of the foreskin are stimulated.
Further damage is done because the foreskin is a protective layer of the penis. With the foreskin gone, the glans is exposed. Firstly it dies out. Secondly, it rubs on clothes; this causes the glans skin to become toughened. Both these things further reduce sensitivity. This page gives a good illustration of the damage done:
http://www.noharmm.org/IDcirc.htm
Circumcision obviously affects sex. Women and men enjoy sex more when the man has a foreskin. This page lists the ten reasons why:
http://www.sexasnatureintendedit.com/10F鈥?/a>
There are some studies that say that there is a mild protective benefit of circumcision in relation to certain conditions. On the other hand, there are studies showing no effect, and some showing the opposite. But if there is any benefit, the conditions are not serious and/or very rare and the health advantage is extremely small. So there is no real health benefit - the losses and risks of the operation certainly outweigh the supposed benefits. Here is a good page to find out more:
http://cirp.org/library/disease/
Circumcision was originally introduced for non-religious reasons in the late 1800's. It was done by crackpot doctors who thought that it would cure various diseases such as paralysis and mental illness. It then took hold as a method of discouraging masturbation. By the way, it was only taken up in English speaking countries. Presumably foreign doctors had a few more brain cells.
You can read a more complete history here:
http://www.historyofcircumcision.net/ind鈥?/a>
Circumcision never really took hold in Britain and by the 1950's it had stopped completely. Less than 1% are circumcised in Britain today. It began to die out in Australia and Canada in the 1970's; today less than 10% are circumcised in those 2 countries. In the USA it has declined, though not by much, from a high of about 85% to about 60% today:
http://www.cirp.org/library/statistics/U鈥?/a>
The USA is now the only Western country that still performs this barbaric procedure. European countries like France, Germany Holland and the Scandinavian countries have never done it. Only 20-25% of the world are circumcised - and 2/3 of these are Muslims.
if it hurts, tell your dad about it.
wait till ur 18 so u dont have 2 ask them
tell them that it hurts all the time and really bothers u
Talk to your Dad, he more than likely wanted to get you circumcised when you were born. You may have to wait until you are 18, I had to!
I was circumcised at 18, so been there and have the t-shirt! Being circumcised is much cleaner, uncut guys need to wash at least 2-3x a day and before sex as there is always a stink. It is healthier to be cut, uncut guys have a 60% higher chance to get STD's and HIV! Looks better to be circumcised, that's a no brainer. It also enhances the sexual experience. The foreskin just gets in the way! I had no hesitation to have my boys (2%26amp;4) circumcised as I know there is no downside, only a lifetime of benefits!
Don't fall prey to the antis! Most are uncut or brainwashed by the lies! There is nothing good about being uncircumcised!
Also read about new studies!

@NoAnteaterHere

How can I get my parents to move houses?
I really want to move house but my parents said it's to much work. What can I do?How can I get my parents to move houses?
move out.How can I get my parents to move houses?
Do you want your parents to change addresses and move to another house? I don't think you want your parents to move their house to another location.
It appears as if your parents are not in the mood to move, so other arrangements must be made.
Depending on how old you are, you might consider moving out of your parents home to an apartment alone or with a room mate.
I hope this has been of some use to you, good luck.
';FIGHT ON';
Grow up and then you can move as often as you like.
do you mean move from one house to another or to physically move the house? not worth it if you mean the latter.
to move a house is a huge undertaking but maybe you mean move OUT of a house.
NOTHING! It sounds like you are a child, and you have no say in your living space until you are old enough and can pay for your own.
Nothing.

How do I convince my parents to let me get a bunny?
My hamster passed away a couple months ago and I want another pet. There are these really cute bunnies on Pet Finder and I want one.How do I convince my parents to let me get a bunny?
Bunnies are silent and won't make even that squeaky sound your hamster made running on its wheel. You can feed bunnies weeds from the yard as treats and you promise to pull some, dandelions make great treats. Bunnies can be left over vacation without a babysitter, just extra food. Bunny poop makes amazing fertilizer, best in the world. If your parents have flowers, they will love that. Bunnies will greet you happily when you walk near their cage, the way a dog would without the barking. Good luckHow do I convince my parents to let me get a bunny?
write down 10 (or more) GOOD reasons why you should get it like teaches me responsibility (things parents like to hear) and do all your chores (if you have any) with out them asking so they see that you are REALLY responsible and also do things like cleaning without being asked. and don't get any any fights with them.....bite your tongue =)
hope this helped and good luck!
I had a bunny one time, huge mess tho. make sure u have a big enough back yard, enough food and its not good if they stay in the rain. their poop is like coco puffs.
If you really want one, tell your parents the oppisite of all that ^_^
tell them that you'll take care for it, they will never have to worry, and that you'll always be good. hope it works!

Im trying to convince my parents to let me get a dog but they are totally against it. What can i do?
I really love dogs-my parents like them to they just dont want one of there own. What can I say to convince them?Im trying to convince my parents to let me get a dog but they are totally against it. What can i do?
Wait until you are old enough to care for one on your own....Im trying to convince my parents to let me get a dog but they are totally against it. What can i do?
As a 13yearold girl, i know, that what ';parents say goes';
Try pet sitting and maybe by proving you are responsible they could be more apt to do it.
Parents are hard to convince. But it is int impossible! Start off by doing something simple to show that you are responsible, and then go on to something bigger. Find a way to earn money (extra chores ;) ) and tell them that you will buy the dog, the leash and other things.(They will have to buy they food lol) Keep your grades up, and maybe they will let you.
Do some research on breeds and present your case in an adult manner:D
Its not as hard as it sounds
Thats what got me my dog:)
Good luck!
-Melly
Show them that you are going to be responsible for it by doing your chores along with things they haven't asked you to do. Going above and beyond always looks good to parents!!
You can't is the short answer! Its their house and home and if they choose not to have a puppy spoil it or ransack it then you have to go along with it. They may change their minds when you're a bit older but don't hold your breath, if they haven't had one before then they don't want one now. Its a shame but theres other things you can do. Offer to walk or go in and play with the dogs at your local shelter, offer to walk your neighbours dogs or 'dog-sit' when they're out. If your parents see that you're serious about dogs and you know all the responsibilities and pitfalls, they may relent. Best of luck to you.

How can I convince my parents to get a cat?
I'm 18, with a job. I could pay for all of the expenses and take care of the litter box. My mom says she doesn't want any more pets, but it seems like if I'm taking care of everything it won't affect her. I take care of the dogs we already have, so I am responsible enough to take care of a cat. I am making sure that all of the cats I am looking at do well with dogs. So how can I convince my parents to allow me to get a cat?
Thanks for the help. How can I convince my parents to get a cat?
I have a cat and trust me it wasint easy! Just tell them that you can do it and really givem hell! (or talk about it for 24/7, or just tell how soft lovebul cute cudly..........) ;]How can I convince my parents to get a cat?
It sounds like you are still living at home. If so, this could be difficult, my mom is very similar - we have a cat, a dog, and a bunch of hamsters, and she refuses to even consider any more pets.
I would start by sitting her down and explaining why you want the cat, how you would take care of it, and perhaps even type up a budget for how much it would cost to take care of it. This will demonstrate that you are really committed to making this work and are willing to put in the time, effort, and money to care for the cat. Perhaps she is just worried that she will get stuck taking care of it. If you can show her, in a mature and concrete way that YOU will be the one caring for the cat, she may be more open to considering it.
If all else fails, ask her why she doesn't want the cat. There may be a reason you don't know about. In the end, if you are living at home, it is her house, and her choice as to what happens in it. You may just have to wait until you move out.
Either way, good luck!
Easy, just tell them that you will take 100% responsibility for the actions of the cat, say that they wont even notice the cat is around. Tell them they wont need to plaareah the cat, cause you will feed, train, and care for the pet. Dont forget to say there wont be any... suprises... on the floor, or any more then there already are from the dogs, accidents do happen, cats are more quiet and loving, and they are perfect for young people, you cant tell me that your parents have never really wanted a pet! hope it helps!
As a mom, I have to say just wait until you get out on your own. You also don't want to bring a cat home, and have your dogs go crazy about it upsetting your mom even more. I know it stinks, but the best thing I can tell you to do is wait...you've waited this long, I don't think it will hurt any to wait longer. I know that is not what you wanted to hear, but it is the truth. Good Luck!
Buy a ninjah cat so when they try get rid of it it kicks them in the face.

How do i tell my parents about my crash?
Im 17 years old and my parents just bought me a BMW and i crashed it a few days ago. Accidently...... I backed out and hit a brick wall how should i tell them. They just gave me it a few days ago. Also, the whole bumper is like smashed. They havent seen it yet beacsue i put like a tarp over it so the snow dosent get on it.How do i tell my parents about my crash?
I would tell them straight up that you were an idiot and shouldn't be driving a BMW, then get it fixed and trade it in for a used Yugo until you learn how to drive you spoiled little rich brat. How do i tell my parents about my crash?
just be truthful, that puts out a lot of brownie points with the parents, accidents happen, just explain what happened, when you hide things from them, thats when the troubles start.
Ask your parents how much they love you first before telling them what happened. If you're a rich spoiled brat they probably wouldnt care and get you another one! lol
Look at it this way. Will they be more mad if they find out you didn't tell them? Or you can tell them and just get it over with and off your chest? You'll feel much better to just get it out of the way. Punishment might suck. But you'll have that.
Well you could lie and say someone hit your car while it was parked. I would tell the truth accidents happen that's what insurance is for.
trade you car in for a cheaper older BMW, then give your dad the surplus cash, that will shut him up
If your grown up enough to have a BMW of your own than your grown up enough to tell them what you did and pony up the dough to pay for it to be fixed.
You say, ';Folks, I backed the Beemer into a wall. I'm going to get estimes on getting it fixed, and I'm hopeful that it won't have any effect on the insurance policy.';
Hello:
Well your options are get it fixed on your own (you sound like you are a poor little rich kid though so I don't count on you being able to do anything on your own with out screwing it up) or so sooner or later you are going to have to fess up and tell mommy and daddy you broke your new toy.
Nothing is going to be gained by hiding it and stalling for time because the problem doesn't get better with time. How about you let your testes finally drop and tell them. Oh if I am wrong about you I apologize, but I doubt I am.
I hope this helps

im really sorry it was an accident
but hun a FEW days ago
there going to ask you why didnt you tell us right when it happened

stare at them until telokinetic powers to beam the bad news into their head
are they planning on getting hammered tonight? tell them while they are not of sound mind, you will either be;major buzz kill,or they will laugh it off at least until tomorrow, or next year however you wanna look at it
tell them straight. its hard, but if they just find out, u will be in more troubl for not telling them

I know it is hard, but it's best just to come clean and tell them. They're going to find out anyway. On the plus side, you didn't hit another car or get a ticket for it. Just tell them and tell them you feel horrible about it and that you would like to help pay for the repair to the car. If you are old enough to assume adult responsibilities like driving, you must be adult enough to deal with the other issues that can arise and this is one of them. well, it makes it worst if you dont tell them at all, so just start out that it was a huge accident and stuff... but you crashed...dont lie about anything though

How can I keep my parents and brother from stealing my inheritance?
hope my grandfather lives more years. However, my parents are greedy as sin. My grandfathers house means a lot to me because so many good memories. The will is that when he passes, the house goes to me, my brother and father. Does that mean that no one can sell unless all three of us agree to do so. What happens if they want to sell but I don't or my brother wants it for him and his girlfriend? I've emigrated to England but I'm afraid they may try and sneak something on and go behind my back. How can I keep my parents and brother from stealing my inheritance?
Talk to a lawyer, but if its in the will, they probably cant sell without
your signature, if they forged it, they would be legally liable, its fraud,
do you really have that bad a relationship with them, that you would
think that they would do that? Is the house worth that much.
How old is the house?, maybe all three of you need to get together
and set up like a contract on whats expected from the house funds
if everybodies going to be fighting over it, I would sell it inmediately
and get your part of it, dont you think so? You dont want to be
feuding for years over a house, specially if you live somewhere else,
by experience I can tell you, I moved from another country to US and
left my precious home that hubby %26amp; I built from scratch, our blood and
sweat went into the home, but its only material things, the thing I
missed the most was family, so we live here now, we sold the home
2 yrs ago and bought another one here, so with your proceeds your
can do something buy a condo and be happy thats what your
grandpa wants for you, fighting? that doesnt sound good, specially
if hes not even gone yet.How can I keep my parents and brother from stealing my inheritance?
I'm in a situation a bit like that. We own a huge house in Europe which my grandfather owns, and both me and my mother have rights to it. The thing is though, if he dies my mom gets it, and then I get it. I suggest you talk with your family and a lawyer. Discuss it with them, and tell your dad how you feel about the house.
You don't say your age but you should talk to a lawyer on Monday and find out your rights. They shouldn't be able to just take the house but if they are greedy, they may find a way. Get some legal advice soon.
it sounds like you need someone who understands the law to get involved .money can make even your family turn ugly
Ouch. Usually your parents then oldest siblings get it
Go talk to a lawyer
what a horrible question :( I couldnt even think like that
I believe that all owners have to agree. Each owner can also sell the part that belongs to them. For example they can sell the part of the land that belongs to them. The problem is will anybody buy. If all you own is a room then noone in the right mind will buy just a room. Is stupid and crazy plus you will have to ask permision to the opwner of the front door just to get to that room or else you are trasspassing. There is also an age issue. Also, when you buy propertie there is usually a part that checks who owns the property and the legalities of it like for example if there is a lean against the house. This is makes sense because it would be unfair for my neigbor to sell my house to someone I don't even know and make a profit out of that. You cannot sell what is not yours.
Bottom line is have things in writting. Opinions and words mean squat without documentation. So, make sure to have a document that specifically say what part belongs to you. You may have to get a lawyer involve. You wouldn't believe to the extend that people will go for money. I heard a story where part of my family was trying to screw my dad out of his inheritance. My mom being the wise woman that she is said no way. The day the went for the repartition she and my dad showed up and ask to see the paper which clearly stated the portion that belong to my dad. Had my dad not showned up they could had made it so that the paper said nothing was left for him. I mean is harder to do than you think but, with the right connections it can be done. Especially if the documentation is vague. Anyways, this is why the law exist. get everything in writting and secure the signatures.
The easiest way out of this mess is to go talk to your grandpa. Have him sign a will and get it notarized. That will end all arguments period. If he doesn't have a clear legal will on who gets what and when then all hjell will break loose. Once this is done if anybody wants the whole property then they have to buy out the other owners. At that point you can get the property appraised so you can get somewhat of a fair value. Anyways, the bak will ask you this because they are not going to give you 100,000 for a property that is worth 20,000. Get a will and get it sign. It will save ytou a lot of head aches.

How can I persuade my parents to let me trick or treat?
I am in my early teens and last year i declared that it would be my last year trick or treating. This year my friend asked me to go with her in her neighborhood . My parents think its rude to still go out . I can easily pass for someone younger, and my friend said its common for people my age to trick or treat. I am planning on going all out on dressing up , so I am still putting in an effort . Any advice on how I can persuade them to let me go still ? PLEASE HELP :) How can I persuade my parents to let me trick or treat?
We give out candy each year and have alot of teenagers. I think it's fun to see what costumes people think of. I think it's only rude if you don't dress up. Tell them that it's not rude b/c you are doing it to entertain the older people that give out the candy. How can I persuade my parents to let me trick or treat?
Tell them your still young and don't want to regret not going when you're there age and tell them you will behave well. that should work.

How do I convince my parents to get me a cell phone?
I am 12 going on 13. In advanced classes. In the 8th grade. You think that would be enough. My bday is on Sept. 29. I really need a phone. Thanks 4 your support! How do I convince my parents to get me a cell phone?
well, just ask them to look at TV...all those child molester, and stuff...do the scary guild trip...that always works...How do I convince my parents to get me a cell phone?
Tell them your getting older and you want some freedom to go hang out with your friends but you want to still be responcible and you want to call them to be safe when your with your friends.that might worked it worked for me when i was 11 and ive gotten a new phone every 6months since then and now im 16.
well hope you get a phone every teen should have one.
Get a job and pay for it yourself.
You do NOT need a cell phone.
You said you already had a tracfone. What happened? If you whined about it, why would you think they would want to give you a ';real'; phone?
Talk to them about how much safer you will be and able to call if there are problems, and also how they can get ahold of you easily when you are away from home.
The 2 ways you will get a phone are:
1- get your own money to pay for it with a job... but your too young
2- ask your parents to give it to you. If they choose not to, then thats thier decision. I know it sucks for you, because i am sure all your friends have one, and you are probably a responsible kid. But listen, cell phones are for business, and personal communication. You dont have a business, and your personal communications can be held at school or on the house line. When you get older and are away from home a lot, i am sure your parents will consider it. Try not to get bitter to them... you are a bit young!
good luck though
a) The rest of my friends have one, I am the only-one that do not...
b) What if there is an emergency, I can call you easily
c) What if you urgently need to tell me something?!?!?, while I am in school
just tell them that u will need to have t in case of emergency and that if u stay after school and u will call them to pick u up and stuff
www.wireless-itch.com
The prices on this website are great and cheap.....parents love it. Mine did!!!
You should tell them that, look, i'm in eighth grade, and there's a ton of after school activities i could go for and ones that i'm already going to that could get canceled, so if all of the school lines are in use, you could use your cell phone-if you had it.
dude to be honest you really don't need a cell phone til you start drivin. maybe ride your bike and leave for like 2 days and when you come home and your parents are all pissed be like ';well if i had a cell phone we wouldn't be having this discussion!'; that worked for me :-D cept i had a car
This is what you do you take responsiblilty like doing chores takeing out trash getting good grades that might convince your parents of buying you a cell phone thats how I got my cell phone
Start with a pre-paid service, be responsible with your alloted minutes. That will go a long way towards proving you are mature enough not to rack up HUGE cell bills!!
Prepaid is a good suggestion. Also if you are really serious about it tell them you are willing to sit down every month go over the bill so both of you understand the charges. It also wouldn't hurt to make a work arrangement with them to pay off the monthly bill. Let's face it your 12 and all the other kids have one right?! Well there are 2 sides to every story. While you can call if you are lost or stuck somewhere you can also end up in conversations (out of ear shot of your parents) with people your parents don't know.(That's part of where going over the bill comes in.) Just like telling your parents where you are going they should know who you are talking to. If you have access to a computer (and I'm guessing you do because you're reading this) then pull some information on some cell phones with prepaid plans and list some options. You should also have a list of a few things that you can do around the house to help out.
Happy birthday and I hope things work out for you!

How can I convince my parents to let me get a parakeet?
I really want one.
How much does it cost to get one?
With cage and all.How can I convince my parents to let me get a parakeet?
I have a parakeet named Peanut :) We got a cage for around $60 and spent probably $30 more on accessories. When I got my bird 7 years ago, I think he only cost about $25. Tell your parents you'll take care of feeding it and cleaning its cage. It was my first pet, and they are pretty easy to care for. Good luck!!How can I convince my parents to let me get a parakeet?
They're probably pretty expensive, I dunno. And just a warning they live for a LONG time. But I'd go about it by bringing up any other pets and how you did so well raising them and if this is your first pet, than guilt them into it by saying they never give you responsibility.
tell your parents you will take real good care of it. prove it to them to house chores be more repsonsible dont forget stuff, go on google and tpye in parakeets and research them then you can tell your parents about them.
About 150$ first trip, then 50 a month.

How do I convince my parents to let me have a mohawk?
I'm 14 and I really want a mohawk. 2 of my friends have one, and they're punk rock. I think my parents think I would turn into that, and my grades would drop. How do I convince them that I should be able to choose my hairstyle. How do I convince my parents to let me have a mohawk?
A mohawk defines who you are ARTISTICALLY %26amp; EXTRINSITCALLY, it has nothing to do with who you are as a person. Punks are NOT bad!!! I am a Mental Health Practiotioner at a residential treatment facility for seriously suicidal teenagers in Grand Rapids, MN. Tell your parents to TRUST ME, wanting a mohawk is the very least of their worries!!!!! A teenager with a mohawk who disects kittens as a hobby - THAT i would be concerned about. A teenager who wants a mohawk just because they think mohawks are cool - chill the f*** out, mom %26amp; dad. Even with the title I have, that would be the very least of my worries. YEA for self-expresion!!!!How do I convince my parents to let me have a mohawk?
I always did my hair the way I wanted. My mom didn't say one word, she just took lots of photos and haunts me with them to this day!
I think they might be worried a mohawk is against the dress code at school. So, in that case, ask to get one when school's out for summer.
You're only young once, tell them you should be able to style your hair the way you want to. Because someday when you are an adult, you probably won't be able to (your job's dress code, you might be bald, etc..)
You should be able to choose your hair styles but you should think about it. Just because your friends have one, doesn't mean you should. People with mohawks normally get looked down upon. I personally don't treat people with mohawks any differently, but I think there gross and ugly. (No offense) There not in style anymore either, that was back in the 60's or whatever.
mohawk are gay and they wont be 'cool' in two weeks any way
only idiots get mohawks.
and a recent study did show that kids who listened to punk-rock had lower grades than those who didn't.

A way to encourage parents to participate in the classroom?
What methods have you used to try and encourage parents to be more involved in your school/daycare?A way to encourage parents to participate in the classroom?
We took a walking field trip to the mail box today and had a parent walk with us. She was great at watching the crossings at driveways etc. Also we have had parents come at lunch time to help on Fridays when we have pizza day. We also have a field trip to a pumpkin patch that includes families and one in the spring to the zoo for families. We have special group rates and it is a great time for parents to get to know one another too. The school has a parent group that meets once a month to plan fundraisers and discuss other ideas to help families of the school. All parents are welcome in the classroom at any time.A way to encourage parents to participate in the classroom?
We had an open morning and invited parents to come and join in a activity and see what their kids were doing and then asked them if any of them could give up some of their time to be more involved
A really great tool is to have parents come in and talk about what makes them special or interesting. Often people will talk about their line of work: dentist, chiropractor. They can talk about their background: greek, french, german. Or they can talk about their special hobbies: sports, art, culture, travel. It's really fun to have children ask the grown-up visitor questions. You can make it a Family of the Week activity.
Open house of course, registration night, volunteers for early literacy assessments, Mother's tea, parent/teacher conferences and end of the year picnic.
WOW, I wanted to help my daughters teacher in the class any time they wanted me. The teacher said she didn't want the students parents in teh same room with them.
I found out the truth which was my child was having learning problems and they didnt' want me to know because they didn't want to help.
Send home notices for any and all activities, things like classroom parties, plays, career day, volunteers for read alouds, etc.
Remember that most parent's work, so coming to school might be difficult. But, I know lots of parents would be willing to bring cookies for a bake sale or bring juice for a party.
Just keep sending notices home. Most people are looking for opportunities to be involved, they just need time to fit them into their schedules.
Send notices home often and early.

bring and buy sales - raffles, cake sales, tombola, face painting, pin the tail on the donkey or put the potty under the child.

Try to see if you can restore factory defaults. If you can't, call the service provider (if available) or manufacturer for a rest password.

Why do some adoptive parents get paid until the child turns 18 and others must pay to adopt the child?
A member of our church has adopted three children. He paid for the child whose mom gave him up, and he gets a check from the government for the other 2 who were taken away from their parents until they turn 18. What determines this? I would be adopting from the state of Tennessee. I want to adopt but my husband and I are verage joes with an average income, not enough to support adopted kids plus our own. I couldn't find any info on the DCS website. Why do some adoptive parents get paid until the child turns 18 and others must pay to adopt the child?
When so many mothers lose their children to foster care due to POVERTY alone (which is classified as ';neglect'; in social worker policy manuals), it is ironic that the money paid to people who foster or adopt these children would easily have enabled the mother to keep her child.
I know many moms who had NO money to care for their children and no way of obtaining such: jobs were unavailable, paid too little, gave them LONG hours for little pay that kept them away from their children, or daycare was NOT available so they could not work. ';Welfare Reform'; has led to a spike in children being lost to foster care and adoption due to poverty.
Punish the poor mother by taking her child because she is penniless. Reward the person who adopts that child by giving them money. There is a huge problem in our system
Why do some adoptive parents get paid until the child turns 18 and others must pay to adopt the child?
If you go through a private agency, you pay the agency. Usually people do this if they want an infant or very young child without issues. Private agency children were given up by their parents at birth. If you go through the state (DCF) then you may get children who have been neglected or abused or abandoned by their parents. You also get what is called a subsidy check if the child meets certain criteria which makes them hard to place...Hard to place children are usually part of a sibling group, african american or biracial, over the age of 8, or have significant behaviors or medical conditions. Any one of these things can make a child qualify for a subsidy along with medicaid. You must make enough money to support the adopted children without the subsidy because the subsidy is not guaranteed. At any point the government can decide to no longer write the subsidy check and you are S.O.L. Now that has never happened but it could.
What could be happening is assisted adoption. When adopting ';higher'; needs children from foster care, at times they assist with the costs of the medical needs. It depends on income and needs of children. For example, my child has lots of medical issues and takes medicaiton, sees a child psych etc. I make enough that I would not qualify for assistance. Others who may make a bit less may qualify for SOME (not all) subsidy. The idea is to assist only with extra medical needs of the children to not be a hurdle if the right family is able to adopt. This money will never come even close to the price of raising children and average expenses, however, it will ensure that a child gets all the help they need to recover from their primary trauma, or wahtever it is they experienced.
Actually, it will vary state by state, but in MOST states, if you adopt a child from foster care, who has ';special needs'; which could be as insignificant as being over a certain age, ADD, ADHD, you will be paid a monthly allowance until the child reaches 18. In some states, including Texas, those children also receive a free education at a state university, and the allowance continues until a later date.
The one they paid for is probably an infant adoption, either private or thru an agency, and they wanted womb-fresh.
Thanks for asking this question. It is important that people understand that adoptions can be about the money, in all respects. And that adoption welfare exists.
you might be confusing two terms. adoption and foster child. you can take in a child from the state and the state will pay you a certain amount
a month to take care of the child until they reach adulthood. the child still
belongs to the state. when you adopt a child you do that through a legal process. when you adopt you take the child as your own and the state is no longer responsible for their support.
It's a program that helps people adopt children out of foster care. These are the people that are willing to take older, disabled, special needs, or multiple children. These are the kids that have a difficult time getting adopted. Babies, on the other hand, have no trouble finding homes so a person who insists on adopting a baby has to pay for the privilege.
Like one before me said,
';Punish the poor mother by taking her child because she is penniless. Reward the person who adopts that child by giving them money. There is a huge problem in our system.';
Richer get richer and poor get poorer.
It sounds like he is just a foster parent for the other 2. He hasn't actually adopted them, he is not their parent and he is just taking care of them that's why the state is giving him money to help take care of them.
when adopting thru foster care the children are considered special needs, therefore the state gives a check every month and medical coverage till the child turns 18. This may vary by state though.
There are provisions in some states for children that are adopted. Contact your local Human services department to start. I adopted thru being a foster parent. The child had a slilght heart mumur so they gave me a monthly payment plus her medical..
Another possibility - do the children he receives government help for have any kind of disabilities? That could explain the monthly check too.
Sly has it right. You can read about NY's adoption subsidy program here:
http://www.ocfs.state.ny.us/adopt/subsid鈥?/a>
I don't have any facts but I do know that foster parents get paid and when you decide to adopt the child permanently the $$$ stops.
He gets an adoption subsidy for the children adopted out of foster care.
If you can't afford to parent more children, then you shouldn't have anymore or adopt any.
I guess it depends where you are. Some areas give tax breaks, some areas have different financial incentives to adoption to get the children out of the system.
In Alberta Canada, as a foster parent with Child and Family Services (DFS, DCS...) they pay a monthly amount for the maintenance of the child. For the infant we had that was about $800 a month, tax free, and the amount would grow as the child got older and naturally had larger expenses. That is designed to cover all expenses for the child from food, clothing, over the counter meds, toys... There is also a yearly amount (about $450 or so) to cover recreational expenses (swimming lessons, school sports fees...) as well as a similar amount for annual vacation expenses. Of course, there are other smaller fees and such that are covered but that is essentially the major stuff.
In addition to the monthly maintenance amount there is also what they refer to as a ';skill fee'; payment which is about $350 a month (also tax free) and is designed to compensate the foster parents for ';their time';. Of course, with costs being what they are today, if you are doing it right the whole monthly amount goes towards the maintenance of the child.
Once a child is adopted through CFS however that skill fee portion ceases since technically, as far as that child is concerned, the foster parents are no longer ';working'; for CFS. The monthly maintenance fee remains however and it is now referred to as ';supports for permanence';. This is a relatively recent change, within the last 2 years or so, and as with the earlier payment the supports continue till the child is 18, is tax free and grows in amount as they get older. The Govt did this for two somewhat related reasons. First off, since many of the children adopted through CFS have issues such as FASD or behavioral problems there was often a financial strain on the families who adopted them and in some cases this caused such hardship that the parents found they had to rely on other programs for support. Also, in some cases these children ended up returning to the system which also caused more upheaval in their lives as well as strains on the system. By continuing these support payments, from a strictly financial standpoint, it was cheaper on the adoption system then having children either returned to the system or not adopted in the first place because of the financial hardship it would cause these parents.
Now, some will jump all over this stating that if parents can't afford to adopt these children then they shouldn't adopt in the first place. My stance is that if they don't then even more children will remain in foster care and the system will end up even more overburdened then it already is.
Keep in mind as well that I am not referring to private adoptions. I'm referring only to adoptions through the Department of Social Services in this area. Children who have been apprehended due to dangerous situations with their birth families.
The first two posters are probably correct. The person that you know who is getting support checks for the children are either fostering the children, or the children have some sort of problem (mental, physical, or emotional) that requires support (i.e., they adopted foster children). When you adopt a child-in-need (from a foster care system), many times the parents will get support for that child so that the care of this child will not impair on the family's circumstances. The parents are not paid for their services to this child. Once an individual reaches 18 they are no longer consider children in a legal sense. So the support stops since the program that provides that support only supports children and not young adults.
Adopting through your state's foster system is the cheapest route for adoption since the process cost nothing but the time you put into the process. But if you don't feel that you can afford to raise an additional child, then you need to rethink it. To help you get more info call your State's DCS office and find out when their next introductory foster care seminar will be (and location).
You could also talk to private agencies in your county that provide foster care services.
Talk to this person in your church and ask questions. I'm sure they will be more than willing to answer any questions that you have about adoption.
There are several YahooGroups that include adoptive parents, foster parents and those parents considering adopting. Join one and ask the Group members.
EDIT: I posted this before I read any other posts.
There is such a thing as adoption subsidy/adoption assistance. That can include different things...such as medicaid, attorney fees up to a specified amount and a possible monthly adoption payment. In my state, families who adopt children with chronic and ongoing medical or severe behavior needs, families who adopt relatives (grandchildren, nieces/nephews, etc,) families who adopt minority children over a certain age, famileis who adopt two or more siblings together and families who adopt any child over the age of 9 (I think)....can apply and receive a MONTHLY PAYMENT when they adopt through the state. The money does not necessarily stop once a foster child is adopted by the foster parent. Medicaid assistance is in place until age 18 and attorney fees are paid for any child adoption.
Now, this money comes from a Federal Program...sometimes Title IV-E money, sometimes it comes from the state money, it just depends. In my state, parents are not paid that much (300-400) but I have heard some states pay quite a bit.
Also, in my state, this monthly assistance payment/ medicaid and attorney fees is not allotted based upon the a/families income. I work with many families who have accounts set up in the children's names and the money is depostited every month. This money is earmarked for each child when they reach adulthood.
To my knowledge, some relative adoption s which are done privately can somehow apply to get this assistance.....as stated it comes from government programs and their are requirements.
You would need to go to your states website and poke around to see what kind of adoption assistance is offered to families who adopt SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN and what the requirements are. By federal definition, any child adopted through the state, is a special needs child.
Good luck and I throughly expect Uncle Thumbs to come on out......
What do my parents and I need to do to get me emancipated and how long will everything take?
I am turning 17 May of 2009 and am graduating also this May. I have been living in Iowa with my boyfriend since September of 2008 and my parents live in Las Vegas, Nevada. They are more than willing to emancipate me since I have been living on my own for almost six months at this point. We just don't really know how to go about it. I am coming back in May and I wanted to get everything completed then. What do my parents and I need to do to get me emancipated and how long will everything take?
I wish wizjp would stop answering legal questions. He is rarely totally correct.
He is right that you are emancipated by your actions. You usually don't go to court for emancipation, though some states have a legal procedure for that in certain cases. Nevada has such a provision, but you must reside in the county to file a petition for emancipation.
Iowa has no legal procedure, but there is a bill to establish one in the legislature.
Marriage emancipates. Having a child does not emancipate in Iowa (or most states). Joining the armed forces emancipates. Earning your own living emancipates. Living off a boyfriend while being a full-time unemployed student does not emancipate. An after-school job usually does not pay enough to emancipate. What do my parents and I need to do to get me emancipated and how long will everything take?
A legal emancipation would be fairly easy, but really, what difference would it make? To you, or to them?
You'll still be their daughter.
You can claim yourself on your tax return, so long as they don't claim you as a dependent. You don't need to file a form for that.
Rental car companies still won't rent to you on account of your age.
Apartment or realtors still wouldn't want to enter into any agreements with you, regardless of your legal status.
Oops.
There's that age-discrimination thing again.
Good luck, in either case.
Walk in beauty.
Everything Wizjp said. Getting emancipated does not affect any other laws requiring a certain age. If your boyfriend is over 18, he could still be jailed for sex with a minor (depending on State laws). Emancipation also requires you to be able to support yourself and live alone. The purpose of emancipation was for those who are able to live on their own with no help from family, friends or Government benefits.
They don't emancipate you. You emancipate yourself.
You need a job, the ability to support yourself financially and socially, a place to live, a plan for the court for conducting your life, usually your parents permission, and a court order.
uh...in other words, lawyer...I'm right about NV.
Rarely totally correct beats being totally wrong I guess.
It's a general forum with general advice. State specifics change; and any emancipation action should entail the use of a lawyer.
earning your own living does not emancipate in NV.
