How should I tell my parents about the second piercing I got in my ears yesterday?

I got it done in a jewellers when I went shopping yesterday. My mum said I would be allowed one but my dad is against piercings. I haven't told my parents yet but I want to. What do you reckon I should say to them to spill the beans? How should I tell my parents about the second piercing I got in my ears yesterday?
show your mum first :)How should I tell my parents about the second piercing I got in my ears yesterday?
How old are you? If you're an adult (legally)...then I would just tell tell them up front that you wanted another piercing, you respect their opinion, but you are, however an adult and made the decision to get one. You can always take it out, where ever it might be. Maybe explain to them that you didn't do it to spite them, it's just part of who you are. At least you didn't go get a tattoo all over yourself if they were opposed to that. They can be but are a little harder (and expensive) to remove in full. When I was 18, I wanted a tattoo and I also wanted my tongue pierced. I don't think my parents thought either were flattering. I asked them which one, if I were going to get one would they like more...surprising the tattoo. So I got one, and they both were OK with it. My conservative step-mom even thinks it's cute. They'll accept it and move on.
Go up to them and show them. Say it was a mistake, but since you had to pay for it yourself, could you keep it?

If they tell you to take it out don't scream and stomp off. Just say ok. And do it. If you want them that bad, wear them at school, at home when they're not around, and any other time that your not with them. But don't forget they're in.
Just go up to your mum, show her your ear and say ';what do you think then?'; She probably will take a few minutes to even notice what you're showing her!

Good luck with that, I still have to tell my parents about the nipple piercings I got....9 months ago :O
Just wear the ear rings, and then wait for their reply, because they will notice anyway. Say you didnt think nothing was wrong with it, because you already had one piercing and that is the style and all your friends have double piercings.
just show them your ears!! then hand them cream cakes :-)

  • How do I get my parents to pay less attention to me, they are very clingy and overprotective?

I hate saying mean things about my parents but I need space and to do my own thing. It's hard for us to communicate because we don't really speak each other's native language very well. I also don't think it's fair for them to completely leave their parents in another country and then to expect me to see them every week. I live on my own for a reason. How do I get my parents to pay less attention to me, they are very clingy and overprotective?
Wow ,I just dont know really what to say .I am also a parent and I tend to be clingy and overprotective . Somethings you have to over look but then somethings they have to over look as well . Your going to have to sit them down and just explain to them that you are being smothered . It may help may not .IT took me alot to not smother my children .Children cannot be replaced .But at least they care enough about you to be up your *** though ......lol . Sorry that your going through this .How do I get my parents to pay less attention to me, they are very clingy and overprotective?
Your gonna have to be firm. Your gonna have to be ready to accept your parents being upset with you. Or live like this for the rest of your life. Put down your foot and dont let them in on every detail of your life. If you say your too busy to do soemthing then they should nt be able to go down the line of your schedule and say ';no...your free, you have time';. Get strong, stay strong. This wont go away till you make them learn...
you are selfish, thank your lucky stars that you have parents and that they care about you, you can't take a week-end each week to see them, something is wrong with you.

How do I tell my parents something that will make them incredibly disappointed in me?

I've been practicing my tennis all year so I can make the school team this year. My parents paid a lot for private lessons and equipment and even clothes and stuff, and I've honestly tried my hardest and given it my all. However, we're about to make cuts and I'm almost positive I'm going to get cut. I simply play very poorly under pressure and haven't won enough games to stay on the team. How can I break it to my parents after they've done so much? How do I tell my parents something that will make them incredibly disappointed in me?
They've done their best to help you out and you've given it your best shot. They might be disappointed but you have to live your own life. Parents can only give their children the opportunities and hope that they help, so maybe if you tell them that you really appreciate everything they've done but you're just not suited to competition playing. Maybe you could convince them to come out and have a friendly game with you so that they can see all their hard work hasn't been wasted as you still sound like you do enjoy it. I can think of far more disappointing things to hear from a child than that so I hope you manage to tell them easily. Good luck. How do I tell my parents something that will make them incredibly disappointed in me?
You might be surprised. When you tell them, let them know that you recognize and appreciate all they have done to support you. Tell them honestly why you believe you did not make the team. Tell them, if you intend to try next year, what you will do to improve.

Also, examine your own thoughts. If winning is so important that you feel anxiety and ';play poorly under pressure';, are you learning the most important lessons? Learning any skill is partly about winning. It is also about understanding the concept of practice, of learning to analyze what went wrong when you do not perform well, about doing your personal best and accepting that as a win, whatever the scoreboard says. It is about learning how to win and how to lose. So try to look at other types of lessons you may be learning. Tell your parents about them too. They will appreciate them more than ANY won-lost record.
You sound very dedicated and grateful for what your parents have done for. Good for you, that's something you don't see as often as you should these days.

If your parents have a similar level of respect for you that you show for them, then just being honest with them would be the best approach.

My only concern would be if they are trying to live out their dreams through you (maybe they dream at night of you winning wimbleton and paying for their retirement?). If not, be confident, your parents will stick with you NO MATTER WHAT.
Wait until you are actually cut. In the greater scheme of things this is not bad. I had to tell my dad I was pregnant just before leaving for college, when he was paying my tuition. Worst day of my life.

Just tell them you are sorry and you did your best.
If you don't make the school team, so what? There are probably amateur leagues in your town. Play in one of those, or just play for fun! Try out for the team again next year.
Tell them just like you told us...make it clear that there are others on the team who are better than you, and you gave it your all! Not your fault if the school has to make cuts- but let them hear it from you first.
Tell them you have a girl friend....

Show your dad a picture of a girl.. said girl is a ******* babe. He will say NICE GET DUDE.

Tell your mom shes incredably relgious and doesnt want sex.

    GOOD GET SON!11
Well if they cant see that you have given everything you got.. Then shame on them.. Parents these days push and push there kids to be the greats in everything.. But one thing they need to understand that always winning or being number 1, is not always going to happen.. We parents need to love our kids for who they are not what they can or can not do.. From a parent to you, who cares if you were cut you gave it your best.. That's all that matters... Good luck Kiddo

How do i get my parents approval of joining the army?

I wish to join the army after high school to help pay for college and pursue my career choice. But my parents refuse to talk about it any time it comes up. Every time I request army info in the mail they hide it or throw it away and every time recruiters call they say im not interested. What do I do?How do i get my parents approval of joining the army?
    Hello Vetkid.

As you have chosen that name it means to me that your father was in the Army.

And, he doesn't want you to join.

But, it is NOT his decision.

When you are 18 you don't need any parent's approval to join the military.

You need to do this now:

#1. Keep your mouth shut about anything military with them.

#2. Use the Internet to obtain preliminary information while you are in high school. You didn't say what grade you are in currently, so I don't know how close to being 18 years old you are.

#3. Go to usmilitary.about.com and then click on the tab that says ENLISTMENT and then scroll down to Army Jobs and Air Force Jobs and Marine Jobs and Navy Jobs and read all about them.

#4. Don't request written pamphlets from recruiters to come to the house or phone you. You can, if you have your driver's license by now, go visit them and talk with them in the office and tell them not to mail stuff or call on the phone.

#5. Go to the public library and study the practice for the ASVAB tests (Armed Service Vocational Aptitude Battery exams) which you will have to take before you can enlist.

#6. Show your parents that you are getting great grades (nothing lower than a ';C';) in your school subjects. All good grades will help you in whichever military service you join.

THEN, when you become 18 years old and actually graduate high school you can do what you wish regardless of your parent's wishes.

Keep a low military profile at this point. You are wearing your parents out and they are becoming ';nuts'; over your talk about the Army. Give them a break.

You have plenty of time ahead to grow and learn before you have to make that first ADULT decision.

    Best wishes,

First SergeantHow do i get my parents approval of joining the army?
All the information is on line and you seem to have computer access. You can chat with recruiters on the Army websites. If you want to go to college, you should look into army rotc. It's the best deal the army has going to pay for college. You can even participate in rotc while attending a community college if it has cross town arrangements with a university with an rotc program. Also consider the army's ecp(early commissioning program) at the military jc's. Commission as a 2nd lieutenant in 2 years and most of the cost of schooling would be paid for by an army rotc scholarship if a cadet qualifies. After graduating the jc and commissioning the 2nd Lieutenant goes directly to a 4 year university with an rotc program and earns a bachelors degree, when he graduates he goes on active duty as a 1st lieutenant earning about 18,000/year more than a freshly commissioned 2nd Lieutenant. Your parents might be more amenable to your going to college and joining rotc and then commissioning as an officer. Feel free to e mail me if you need any more info on what I wrote above.
Like others have told you, once your 18, it's no longer their call. A little advice about dealing with recruiters. GET ANY AND ALL GUARANTEES FOR SCHOOLS OR SPECIALTIES IN WRITING. Yeah, they seem like nice guys and most of them are but don't listen to any garbage about how you'll be able to specialize latter because chances are you'll be filling an infantry billet unless your already bringing desirable language or technical skills to the table. Cut your parents some slack also because they love you and are frightened of losing you. If it's what you want they'll have to accept it but be a standup guy from the beginning and let them know you understand their fears but need to lead your own life if your ever going to be a real adult. In advance, thanks for your service and good luck.
Yea not much else anyone can tell ya. The others pretty much said it. Once your 18, parents have no say. As for convincing, if you cant, you cant, its just that simple. Some parents refuse to think about that possibility. Once your 18 tho they cant stop you. .
If you are eighteen years of age you can do what ever the bloody hell you want. You will legally be an adult and therefore do not need the consent of your parents. As far as getting literature, use a friends address, with their permission of course.
    Some suggestions:

    - think it over at least 100 times

    - go visit infowars dot com and similar websites. Read 100 articles.

    - wait until you're 18.

And then hopefully you make an educated decision. Being a soldier isn't as fun as playing Halo or Counter-Strike. Trust me.
they just dont want the thought of you going out to die. it's not something you can help them understand.

you're risking your life for money and there's more things to life than money
The posts about 18 yrs old are good.

Also, most schools have army recruiters, you may have one at your school! :D
Go to the recruiter directly, or go to www.goarmy.com

Once you are 18, they cannot stop you from enlisting.

Until then, you'll just have to suck it up.
Wait until you are 18. Then, if you still need your parents' approval you are not ready for the service anyway.
set them down and explain to them the reasons why you want to go your parents will be resistant no matter what so just try to tell them in the calmest way possible
omg thats not ok army is evil but if u like it try everything u got to get in

    ps pokemon rules
Try and get to one in person.

Once you turn 18, it's no longer your parent's decision.
wait until you are 18 and do it. You will be an adult and wont need their approval.
Have a serious talk with them and ask them why they dont want you to join
WELL IF U ARE 18....SCREW YO PARENTS...ITS YO LIFE...YO RULES.LOL.......I SAY U GO AND DO IT MANE....AND ENJOY

How can I talk my parents into letting me get my nose pierced?

I'm 15 and really want to get my nose pierced this summer. All I want is a tiny stud that just looks like a little sparkle. I think it would be so cute, but my parents don't seem to agree. Any ideas??How can I talk my parents into letting me get my nose pierced?
Hey, first and formost, keep in mind that what your parents say, goes. You can't force them. However, you can....persuade them. Here are a few tips:

When I wanted my ears pierced, my mom made me write an essay about why I wanted them pierced and such. Try it. Just write a quicky essay or poem or something about getting your nose pierced. It will show you're serious about it, and that you're willing to do a school-like project without being forced to.

Is there anything you can improve in your lifestyle? Your room, perhaps? Or do you have certain chores that you neglect or ignore? Try to show responsability, and convince them that you're responsible enough to get your nose pierced.

Do helpful things around the house without being asked.

    Try not to argue alot.

And finally, if they say no, accept it without whining and complaining. This will either a) Show them you're not immature, and they will change their minds, or b) See how mature you are, and the next time you ask for something, they'll consider it more seriously.

That's all I can give you. Good luck! How can I talk my parents into letting me get my nose pierced?
if you're scared to ask your parents then just go ahead and get one.. they might get mad when they see u have a nose pierced but there's nothing they can do. what they gonna do kick u out?lol.. thats what i did b4
Tell them you'll eat your vegetables and do your homework for ever and ever.

(I am sooo not being sarcastic, i got my nose pierced at 14, and hat's how i got them to let me.)
hate to say it, but wait till you're 18 and can do it on your own legally (that's how it is in Utard anyway-dunno about other states) that's what i had to do! (i've had mine for a year now and i love it!) when you're a minor and you live with your parents, you sometimes have to listen to their rules....you do, after all, live in their house where they pay for food, shelter, etc etc.

parents may or may not know EXACTLY what's best for their kid, but they know more than we give 'em credit for.

#1-nose piercing hurts like HELL. out of the 9 i have, it hurt the worst BY FAR.

#2-i cant be absolutely certain, but in my search for jobs since i've graduated college, i'm pretty sure i've actually been turned down because of it. it sucks, but it's a choice i made and i'm not taking it out for a job. *shrug*

and hey, it is only my own opinion.

    best of luck!
It is customary for some East Indian women to get their nose pierced to let men know they are not available. You can try and use that angle. I have a tiny CZ stud and honestly, most people do not even notice it, but I love it and that is what matters. You can also tell your parents it is something that means something important to you and you are not doing it to look crazy. Then tell them that if after you have it done they absolutely despise it, you will remove it. Hope it works for you.
    option 1.

Sneek out the house when there not looking. Quickly get it down at a place nearby and cover your nose every time you see your parents. -Say you have a cold :)

    option 2.

nag nag and nag. Say all your friends have it. Say boys like it. say it's just not fair and that you feel you are not being treated well. Tell them that if they treat you more like an adult -giving more responsibilities than you will become more like an adult.

    option 3.

Tell your mother that she TOO would look great with a nose piercing. Look for photos on internet of beautiful woman with nose piercings. Tell your mother that they look a little bit like her - but with the addition of a nose piercing.

    option 4.

    Tell your parents that others (your friends) are also getting their bellybutton, mouth, tongue, and eyelids pierced. The idea here is to introduce more extreme possibilities. Tell them that you are also very keen on getting this done. Then give up on the idea and say ';well, I guess I would also be satisfied with just a nose piercing';

    option 5.

Use one of those fake piercing things -so you don't need a hole in your nose
don't. noserings are not at all attractive. plus it could get infected or something. if your parents said no, then just respect their authority please!

How do I convince my Parents to get me a hamster?

My mom wont let me get a hamster because she thinks i dont NEED one but i really want one and i just don't know how to convince her??

Please Help Me!How do I convince my Parents to get me a hamster?
Well, maybe your mom is right. Do you think you could really take care of a hamster? Its not that easy. I have two myself and although I love them, they do stink. I have to clean the whole cage twice a week. Do some research about them than talk to your mom. Prove you could take care of one.How do I convince my Parents to get me a hamster?
If you have any other pets, then show that you are responsible with them. Keep them feed, cleaned and play with them often. If you don't have any pets then try and do some extra chores and stuff so you maybe can earn money on your own to pay and keep a hamster. Remember they take lots of care and most people do get bored with them after a little while.
I went through the same thing. I wonted to get a second hamster and my dad just kept saying NO, but I kept bagging and begging and FINALLY he said yes. I was SO exited. But a little while after I get Sammy my first ariginal hamster Emma died. I miss Emma SO much, she was the best hamster EVER!!!!! But anyway, just tell her you are responsible, and show her that too, like take care of your other pets if you have any, and if not then do A LOT of chores around the house with out her having to ask you. And just keep bringing it up, like I use to do to my dad, I use to make him laugh so much. Like when he said ';Are sink looks terrible'; I use to say ';Then lets replace it with a hamster';. He use to laugh because I would bring it up on the totally oppisite subjects. I hope I helped, GoOd LuCk
well first you have to ask yourself are u ready for this responablitily. can you handle taking care of it. when i wanted one i paid for it myself. i just begged. lol. and i told them that i could be responsable taking care of it and proved it to them by my previous pets that i took good care of.
First Good luck and Hopefully Your moms nothing like my Dad... Because when my Dad Says No He basically never EVER Changes that answer.

Well Try telling her All the Good things about having a Hamster.
i would say prove to your parents that you are really responsible like do an xtra chore or some laundry!!!!!!!!! it would help your parents and at the same time win you aome brownie points!
Ask for a chinchilla then go smaller.

    Parenting Classes for Two Daddies?

Hello! Can anyone recommend a pre-natal, parenting class in the Los Angeles area for two future daddies? My partner and I are expecting our first child in April 2010 and want to be ready for this joyous event.Parenting Classes for Two Daddies?
That is awesome news, Congrats!!! The easiest way is to sign up for classes at the hospital the baby will be born at. My hospital took us on a tour and explained the security system etc it was great! We went back for the Labor Class as well. Check with your insurance, as they may reimburse you the cost of the class, mine did.Parenting Classes for Two Daddies?
I think the hospital is the best bet and/or baby's doctor will have all sorts of information regarding parenting classes. I found my area offered a group of local mommies/daddies that get together and discuss, learn and support each other. You could find this information at your neighborhood library or town forum. As a mommy of 3 may I recommend that you buy the book ';Happiest Baby on the Block'; . It will help you understand babies and learn how to comfort them. I found it at Babies R Us and don't know how I managed my first born without the knowledge it provided. Best of luck to you and yours.
most hospitals offer a daddy class. This includes information about changing diapers, caring for newborns, but also about taking care of the woman who just gave birth. Sounds like you don't need that part. After a baby is born, they show the parents how to bath, clean the eyes, the belly bottom, and any other information you could need or what. They teach you to count diapers to know baby is getting enough to eat. If you know the woman who is having this baby for you, I assume you could learn a lot of this in the hospital where the baby will be born. Also, her doctors office may offer classes about different things. I know mine did. Call the hospital in your area and see what they can offer you!!
